My family and I (a group of 3) traveled on a 10-day Kenya safari in August 2023. We had the privilege of witnessing the ‘Big 5’ and countless other remarkable animals in their natural habitat. It was a once-in-a-lifetime adventure that left me in awe of the natural world.
The journey was complemented by delicious cuisine, top-notch wildlife guides, and accommodations that exceeded our expectations. The entire experience was extraordinary.

Our family of three had been talking about an African safari vacation for several years.
We are a mom, dad and 15-year-old daughter and reasonably experienced travelers. However, trying to plan a safari vacation to Africa was beyond anything we had organized in the past.
Fortunately, we were introduced to Julie Thompson and Eyes On You Safaris by good friends whom had been on safari in Africa several times. From our very first call with Julie, she was genuinely eager to listen to our objectives, calendar and budget constraints, concerns and requests traveling as a family, and an unending number of questions.
The result was a spectacular two-week, turnkey itinerary in Kenya that far exceeded our expectations even down to the smallest detail, including meaningful cultural experiences at a local village and an elementary school. Each of our three safari camps were in uniquely different topographies with a broad diversity of animals. The accommodations, food, safari guides, and service by each camp’s staff were all 5 star plus.
A thousand photographs later, our family of three unanimously agree that our time on safari went way too fast, and we look forward to working with Julie again in the future to plan another African adventure.

Our trip to Tanzania was everything we were hoping for and so much more.
Julie planned for us to stay at four different locations: Legendary Lodge, Swala, Mwiba, and the mobile Legendary Camp. The plane and ground transportation went seamlessly and the staff at each location went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. Each location showed us a different side of Tanzania and allowed us to see a wide range of animals and scenery. The safari guides Julie suggested truly made all the difference in how exciting our drives were. We saw every animal we were hoping to and more. And did I mention the food? Everything was delicious. The staff even planned to make us a traditional Tanzanian dinner one night per our request. Before our trip, Julie even helped to coordinate a brunch in the bush as a surprise for our parents. There was an omelet chef behind the bushes and everything! It was a trip of a lifetime and we will always remember it.

We had a most amazing time on safari in Tanzania.
Every detail of our trip was well planned, extremely organized, completely documented and perfectly executed! Julie’s firsthand knowledge of everything Africa is an absolute blessing! We did not do any research or planning for the trip and thus relied solely on her expertise and excellent recommendations every step of the way.
We enjoyed every venue and can honestly say the progression of venues was perfect from Legendary Lodge, to Chem Chem, to Singita Sabora to Mwiba Lodge.
One of the biggest blessings of the trip was having the same Legendary guide, Mathew Olekasale, with us every step of the way. He was extremely knowledgeable of all wildlife, terrain, the Masai tribe and worked hard to create extraordinarily personal experiences throughout our trip.
The African people are the most hospitable, gracious and service oriented people I have ever met. They are always smiling, completely flexible about anything and everything and they love to surprise their guests.
The accommodations were luxurious, the food was incredible and those who were taking care of us were completely humble and delightful. To say we enjoyed the game drives would be an understatement as we were within feet of many different animals every time we got in the vehicle or we were brave enough to walk with the bushmen. We visited two villages and had extraordinary experiences meeting the people, wearing their clothing and engaging in singing and dancing with them.
We are so grateful for all of your upfront planning, Julie, as well as your timely emails, safari guides, itineraries and packing lists. We will treasure our Tanzania trip forever and all of the wonderful memories we made with our African friends.
